Maincast Autumn Brawl invites its first participants: Virtus.pro and Natus Vincere. The two big CIS tags will be joined by 18 more teams from EU and CIS at the invite-only online cup held on Oct. 6-14. While not otherwise specified, Virtus.pro seem to be invited directly to the playoffs stage, with three more of these spots available.

The event features a bit of an unusual format, driven by the awkward 20 team line-up: four GSL groups going into a 12-team playoffs. First place will win $50,000 out of $80,000 total prize pool. The rest of the prize distribution and exact schedule is so far unknown.

Group Stage:

— Four groups, four team each will play in a double-elimination (GSL) format.
— Best-of-1 matches, best-of-3 loser's bracket finals.
— Top two teams from each group advance to the playoffs.

Playoffs:

— Eight teams from the group stage and four invited teams will play in a single-elimination format.
—  Best-of-3 matches, best-of-5 grand final.

Maincast Autumn Brawl lineup:

— Playoffs invites: Virtus.pro, Natus Vincere and 2 TBA
— Group stage invites: 16 TBA

Maincast was formed by former RuHub employees Vitalii "V1lat" Volochai and Andrey "x3m4eg" Grygoriev on Jul. 26. The company announced early on that they would not only focus on tournament coverage, but also tournament organization. Maincast Autumn Brawl is the company's first tournament in Dota 2.
