MarineKing started his eSports career with StarCraft: Brood War under the name of Clare in 2009. He gained recognition after moving to StarCraft II. He won a lot of various awards in several years. He won MLG and Numericable M-House Cup, placed second in the GSL and third in the ESWC and GSL Super Tournament several times and accomplished many other achievements. MarineKing is famous for his perfect micro and macro. In October 2013 made a statement about his transition to League of Legends, but he didn't manage to become a starter for Prime and decided to return to SC2. He managed to become one of the Prime leaders in the ProLeague 2014 really quickly. However, the team didn't succeed, ending up with the last place for two rounds and the one next to last for the other two rounds, and MarineKing himself had a winrate of 46%. Like another leader of the team, Protoss player Creator, he hadn't played in the GSL 2013 because he didn't manage to qualify for it. In the preseason MarineKing, who had already been called MKP by his fans for a long time, stated that he was leaving the team and joining Team MVP to participate in the ProLeague 2015 with them. MarineKing's greatest achievement after the period of his inactivity was his performance at Hot6ix Cup 2014. Although the fact that he qualified for the main stage was thought to be sensational, he managed to finish the group stage with a perfect score, placing first, and defeat PartinG and Zest in the play-offs and make it to the finals. However, the finals in Korea were a barrier for MarineKing once again: sOs clearly outplayed the Terran player, leaving him on the second place. Nevertheless, this result lets MarineKing himself and his numerous fans look into the future optimistically.
