XBOCT

Alexander Dashkevich, 27 years Ukraine

XBOCT is a professional Dota 2 player. He became a world champion with Natus Vincere in 2011. Alexande debuted in the professional scene with Planet-X in 2009 but went inactive after a series of losses and roster changes. In October 2010 he returned to the professional scene playing for the revived Natus Vincere roster. Soon Na'Vi enhanced the team by picking up new players, and by April 2011 XBOCT was the only player from the original roster. At TI1 he became the first world champion in the Dota 2 history, which affected the way the team developed further despite losing the captain ArtStyle. Playing for Na'Vi, XBOCT gained a lot of titles. In addition to the victory at TI1, XBOCT is a seven-time champion of the StarLadder and two-time champion of the ESWC. In July 2013 his team won the Alienware Cup in China. However, he is mostly known for his performance at The International. At TI2 and TI3 his team made it to the grand finals. Both times it seemed like it would have been the last stage of the play-offs for the team. XBOCT would often help Na'Vi to go further. Unfortunately, Alexander didn't manage to defend his champion title, however, placing second at The International two times in a row can be considered as a significant achievement. After TI3 XBOCT criticised his teammates, and there were rumours about upcoming roster changes, but the decision to keep going was made. Even though the beginning of the season seemed optimistic, by the middle of the season it became clear that Na'Vi started losing their strength. At TI4 the team didn't reach the grand finals having lost to Cloud9 and placing 7th - 8th. Puppey, team captain, left. All the attempts to regain glory failed. Na'Vi did not win a single Premium level tournament during the 2014-15 season. The vagueness about the captain made the team even less confident about the future. Nevertheless, the organisation believed in XBOCT and Dendi, popular Mid player. By TI5 ArtStyle returned to the team, but the triumph did not last long: after qualifying for the TI5, which gave hope to the fans, the team failed in the tournament itself ending up with the last place. The team updated their roster again, but after the failure at the qualifiers for the Frankfurt Major 2015 it was Alexander's turn to leave. On the 16th of October 2015 Na'Vi disbanded the line-up. Alexander would have spent five years with the team if they had disbanded 6 days later. The new era for Na'Vi began, and XBOCT was still in demand as a player for CIS teams. XBOCT's hero pool is huge. He is best known for playing Lifestealer, Gyrocopter and Anti-Mage. The distinguishing features of his play style are his aggressiveness and confidence, which lead to victory when the situation seems hopeless. There are a lot of memes and jokes related to the player. He is also a media personality.
