Freelance Graphic Designers

Just in case you're a graphics designer with some free time on their hands and hunger to do more, we have just the right job for you. Cybersport.com is looking to hire experienced freelance graphics designers to help us improve the visuals of our website and social media presence.

As a freelance graphic designer, we'll approach you to:

  • Come up with creative ways to improve visuals of articles
  • Create template layout designs for featured pieces
  • Help improve social media templates and visuals
  • Create infographics and relevant assets

You should:

  • Be fully at home in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
    • Some video editing, animation and After Effects experience a plus
  • Be communicative and comfortable working with deadlines
  • Be able to execute creatively within certain branding standards

Freelance video FX artists

If After Effects and the rest of his Adobe Premiere Suite cousins are your forte and you're looking to earn some extra, you're in luck. Cybersport.com is looking to hire freelance video FX artists to help us shape the vision of our upcoming video content. 

As a freelance video FX artist, we'll approach you to:

  • Create into, outro and logo animations for our video content
  • Create templates for various video elements, such as nameplates, infoboxes, transition animations and more. 
  • Work with the Cybersport.com team to put together video content from different pieces
  • Advice on studio and equipment set-ups for optimal production quality

Ideally, you should:

  • Be fully at home in Adobe Premier Suite
  • Be communicative and comfortable working with deadlines
  • Be quick in executing tasks during heavy-content days (e.g. on-site tournament coverage)
  • Be able to execute creatively within certain branding standards

Freelance: Translators (KR & CN)

Cybersport.com is looking for Chinese-to-English and Korean-to-English translators to help us cover the respective local scenes in various esports. If you're proficient in those languages, want to educate our audience about the eastern side of esports and earn a living doing it, then this could just be the job for you.

What does the job entail

  • Scout for relevant news, interviews, and articles published in the CN and/or KR scenes (Dota 2/Counter-Strike/League of Legends)
  • Translate content in timely fashion 
  • Work closely with Cybersport.com's supervising editors during the process of approval/publishing of content
  • Have a preference over translators who can comfortably write compelling stories and conduct (written/speech) interviews on their own

Freelance: Guide writers

Cybersport.com is looking to expand its content horizons and as such, we're looking for knowledgeable writers to do what every game and scene needs and cherishes — detailed guides on how to become better as a player. This includes hero strategies and laning tips for games like LoL and Dota 2; map and smoke guides for games like CS:GO; deck guides for Artifact; patch analyses for all games; and so on, and so forth. This is a freelance position and paid on per-piece basis.

Guide writer job description

  • Be very knowledgeable about your game of choice
  • Be able to work with set topics and formats, communicated by our supervising editors
  • Be versatile in regards to types of content. Example content for different games would include:
    • LoL/Dota 2: Hero/champion guides, patch analyses, warding and laning guides, solo queue/pub game tips, and more.
    • CS:GO: Map strategies as T/CT, smoke/nade guides, callout maps, spray techniques, and more.
    • Artifact: Deck and color guides, Gauntlet strategies, TCG mechanics explained, and more.

Freelance: On-Call News Writers

Given the dynamic esports scene and the need for around-the-clock coverage, Cybersport.com is looking for on-call news writers to help us not miss a beat during busy periods or when we just need some extra hands. This position is freelance and pays-per-article

Job description

  • Have basic knowledge in the major esports scenes at the very least
    • Knowledge in Dota 2, CS:GO and League of Legends is a strong asset
    • Understanding of the business side of the industry as well as other esports titles (incl. but not limited to Overwatch, PUBG, Rainbow Six: Siege)
  • Be available to step in and write when needed (sometimes on short call)
  • Have experience in reporting and newswriting
  • Work with our news editor on coordinating content output
  • Proficient written English is a must

  • Be strongly-opinionated and knowledgeable of your scene

Artifact writer - Europe

It has been some time since a new Valve game has hit the market, and we're finally getting it with Artifact. Ahead of the game's beta and official launches, we're looking for writers experienced covering card games and esports to join our team in the near future.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly pitch and draft unique written editorial content, per supervising editor's approval, to be produced on a weekly basis
  • Create insightful written content regarding Artifact and its competitive scene, incl. players, teams, tournaments, etc.
  • Produce unique content ranging from interviews, op-eds, deck, card, and metagame analyses, to profiles on team and player histories
  • Report on and write esports news and community happenings on a daily basis
  • Be comfortable and charismatic on social media, speaking enthusiastically about your opinions regarding a team’s success or failures, the specific games and upcoming matches
  • Think creatively about featured pieces and out-of-the-box content ideas with partners
  • Be ready to travel to all the large events for your specific game, where you will be interviewing players, coaches, casters and other relevant individuals and push content back to our editors

Requirements

  • Previous experience in writing hard-hitting articles, breaking esports news or credible strategy analysis in the field of CCGs
  • Not afraid to express professional and personal opinions in written or other forms
  • Relative connections/relationships with current CCG scenes (Hearthstone, GWENT, etc.)
  • Work remotely with your supervising editors to ensure delivery of required quotas and quality of content
