This weekend a record was broken at the StarSeries 6 finals, as ENCE eSports' Jere "sergej" Salo took home the HLTV x Betway MVP Award. At just 16-years-old sergej became the youngest player to ever receive the award as he helped his team claim the tournament.

Receiving the HLTV tournament MVP is no small feat no matter who you are. Only a select few players have managed to win the award before their 20th birthday and — up until this weekend — only one player had done it before his 18th birthday: Rokas "EspiranTo" Milasauskas who earned his MVP at DreamHack Summer back in June. All this according to the listings on the Liquipedia-page for the HLTV MVP Award.

It does seem like sergej isn't letting the award go to his head, though. In the official MVP Award photo, he looks fairly relaxed about the whole thing.

This was the first ever international LAN win for sergej as well as this iteration of ENCE. The team dominated StarSeries 6 from start to end as they came out on top in the groups before beating out BIGOpTic Gaming, and finally Vega Squadron to win the tournament.
