Probably one of the most recognisable people in League of Legends, and easily the most iconic non-player, Romain Bigeard, the former manager of Unicorns of Love, will be heading across the Atlantic, as he takes up the reins of OpTic Gaming, as their new team manager.

Romain is no stranger to anyone who's been following League for any stretch of time. He single-handedly introduced the concepts of mascots to League teams, when he insisted on wearing a new unicorn themed outfit for every game the team played. Known for his penchant to run around topless, the amateur bodybuilder added something to League of Legends that wasn't present before he showed up at the Mallant family residence in a onesie, asking to be made manager. He added flair. A sense of showmanship, and a deep understanding that branding wasn't about the biggest budget, it was about grabbing attention. At any time, any place, you were never in doubt when the Unicorns were there, Romain made damn well sure of it.

From having Bjergsen shave his head after the Unicorns lost to TSM at Rift Rivals, to having a Mascot stand-off with Lothar's G2 Samurai, Romain has an uncanny ability to make sure that every eyeball in the room is facing him, and him only. This, he now brings to North America, as he takes on building OpTic Gaming's brand in League of Legends.

Whether the American audiences will take to him, like the Europeans did, remains to be seen, but one thing is certain. Romain almost had as many fans personally, as the Unicorns did as a team. Just like many fans will follow Bjergsen, should he ever change teams, many are likely to follow Romain, to see what he get's up to across the pond. A heavy loss for the Unicorns, but a massive win for OpTic in terms of branding.

With him, he's bringing French Caster and Summer Split Finals analyst desk guest, Thomas "Zaboutine" Si-Hassen, a caster known for his enthusiasm for off-picks and out of field strategies, to coach the new OpTic squad. While being new at coaching, Zaboutine brings with him an analyst casting career, and a long relationship with Romain. Together, the two are to make OpTic battleworthy for the NA LCS
