Newbee took down LGD.Forever Young to become the ones to represent China at the DreamLeague Season 8 LAN Finals Major held on December 1-4 in Jönköping, Sweden.

Going all the way through the Upper Bracket, The International 2017 runner-ups proved they are still in form, first facing Vici Gaming 2:1, then beating LGD.Forever Young twice in a row, showing a confident performance both times with clean 2:0 series.

The remaining Regional Closed Qualifiers in Europe, CIS and Southeast Asia will be held this October and November. While Europe and CIS have their own league play, other regions will have to qualify through 4 team Double Elimination brackets. So far, only China and South America qualifiers were held. The Grand Final itself will be held on December 1-4 during the DreamHack Winter event at Jönköping, Sweden.

DreamLeague Season 8 LAN Finals participants:

— Europe and CIS #1: TBD
 Europe and CIS #2: TBD
 Europe and CIS #3: TBD
— Europe and CIS #4: TBD
— China: Newbee
SEA: TBD

This season, two of the DreamHack events received a Major status: one in December, one in January, with an increased prize pool of $1,000,000 each (from $175,000 of previous Season 7) and with 8 teams total advancing to DreamHack LAN (double than previously) to fight for the prize and a status of Major Champions. The LAN finals themselves will be held on December 1-4 in Jönköping, Sweden.

As opposed to other already announced Minor and Major events, the DreamLeague does not provide direct invitations, choosing to instead increase the combined European and CIS qualifier spots to 4 total.
