PSG.LGD clean sweep VGJ.Storm to become MDL Changsha Major champions

Already securing the fourth direct invite to this year's The Invitational, PSG.LGD managed to take home a second consecutive Major win after success at EPICENTER XL by winning the MDL Changsha Major this weekend.

The Chinese side clean swept VGJ.Storm in the best-of-five grand finals to claim victory at the tournament, though their journey to that point wasn't the easiest. Starting the event in Group B, PSG.LGD finished fourth out of the six teams in contention with a record of 2-1-2. They beat Vega Squadron and Newbee 2-0, drew 1-1 with TNC Pro Team, and lost 0-2 to both VGJ.Storm and Vici Gaming.

Progressing to the loser bracket of the playoffs, they had to best a number of strong teams to make it to the grand finals; namely iG Vitality, TNc Pro Team, Team Secret, Newbee, and Vici Gaming. Then, when they made it to the final round of the tournament, they showed class and incredible teamwork to win in convincing fashion.

Here are the final placements and winnings of the twelve teams that competed at the Major:

1. PSG.LGD - $400,000, 750 DPC Points
2. VGJ.Storm - $200,000, 450 DPC Points
3. Vici Gaming - $130,000, 225 DPC Points
4. Newbee - $85,000, 75 DPC Points
5/6. Mineski & Team Secret - $40,000
7/8. OG & TNC Predator - $25,000
9/10. Invictus Gaming & iG Vitality - $17,500
11/12. Infamous & Vega Squadron - $10,000

The next Dota 2 Major is ESL One Birmingham, which takes place next week from May 23rd-27th. The event has a $1,000,000 prize pool with twelve teams will fighting to receive the lion's share.
