European giants Team Liquid have bowed out of DreamLeague Season 10, the first Minor of the 2018/19 DPC season, citing health concerns, the team announced today.
The TI7 Champions had failed to qualify for The Kuala Lumpur Major after playing with a stand-in, as Lasse "MATUMBAMAN" Urpalainen did not join up with the rest of the team. However, there has been no official word from the organisation whether it is his health that is a cause for concern in advance of the Minor.
Unfortunately we will not be attending the DreamLeague Minor at the end of this month for health-related reasons.GLHF to the teams still attending!— Team Liquid (@TeamLiquid) October 11, 2018
Team Liquid originally missed out on a qualification spot for the KL Major after being defeated by Team Secret (2:0) and Team Lithium (2:1). However, they qualified for DreamLeague Season 10 after getting revenge over Lithium (2:1) and defeating MangoBay (2:0), as Roman "rmN-" Paley filled in for Matumbaman.
With Liquid pulling out of the Minor, Team Lithium have been announced as the team in to replace them, after their fourth-place finish in the qualifiers. MangoBay (third) would have been next in line, but have disbanded since the qualifiers took place.
Due to the unfortunate nature of Team Liquid not being able to attend the #DHDreamLeague Minor, we are thankful for Team Lithium for standing in at such short notice!— DreamHack Dota (@DreamHackDota) October 11, 2018
