Team Liquid are the third team to cancel their attendance of the Galaxy Battles II Major, which is scheduled to take place Jan. 15-21 in Manila. The tournament had its status and circuit points revoked by Valve, due to strong governmental regulations in the Philippines, raising concerns for the players’ wellbeing and safety.

Galaxy Battles would’ve offered $1 million in prize pool to be split between the 16 attending teams, as well as 1500 Pro Circuit points in total, but with the latter fully gone alongside Valve’s half of the prize pool, there is little to no reasons for premier teams to bother flying to the Philippines, especially with another Major looming in Katowice for the end of February.

Virtus.pro and Team Secret were the first teams to express concerns for the now-revoked Major and it is expected for more teams to follow soon as the story develops. Galaxy Battles’ line-up of teams also features TI runner-ups Newbee and multi-Major winners OG.
